Our Favorite! Starting green, these unique yellow-maturing tomatillo have an interesting purple blush on some fruits. Most will burst through their papery tan husks when ripe. Used in salsa, green sauce, chilli sauce, or fresh roasted. Tomatillos keep extremely well (for several weeks) in the fridge and freeze easily. An established patch often re-seeds in the garden.
Seeds need to be started indoors 6-7 weeks before last frost. Sow 1/4" deep in a light soil mix; harden off & plant out 24 - 48" apart, in not too rich a soil, after all danger of frost is over. Tomatoes benefit from staking.
