Old, standard, heirloom swede turnip for storage. Large, purple-shouldered, uniform globes with creamy yellow flesh. Great winter keeper. Turnips have the highest calcium content of all root crops. Sow outdoors as soon as possible in spring. Plant 1⁄4-1⁄2" deep and 2" apart in rows 24" apart. Germinates in 7-14 days. Thin to 4-6" apart. Sow every 2 weeks for continuous harvest. Sun to partial shade.
