Every type of seed we sell has had a germination test done at the start of the seed selling season.  Every variety of seeds has a acceptable range of germination in a certain timeframe to be considered good and healthy seed.  For Example to have what is considered good germination for beans is above 75% in 7 days.  If it takes longer then that to achieve 75% the seed is still technically viable but most likely will not do well as it is very weak seed.
